My Story

Shawn and I are small animal vets in the UK. We spent a month volunteering with the ORP research expedition earlier this year and absolutely fell in love with it. ORP is a UK registered charity, founded in 2013 in response to the large number of Olive Ridley sea turtles found entangled in ghost nets. Their mission is to protect sea turtles and their habitats, rehabilitate injured sea turtles, and use scientific research to raise awareness of the threats faced by sea turtles in the Indian Ocean.

Their cause means so much to us because having travelled to the Maldives on a number of occasions, we want to see this beautiful environment and its inhabitants preserved for future generations to enjoy as much as we have.

Having witnessed first hand how much ORP achieves with a very small team and a limited budget, we want to support them as much as possible. Therefore, we are doing this 100 mile walk from Winchester to Eastbourne to try to raise at least £1000 for the charity. This will involve us walking almost 20 miles per day for 6 consecutive days in August.

It would mean so much to us if you could help us achieve this goal. This really is an incredible charity that will help in the conservation of marine life and the coral reef ecosystem in the Indian Ocean, so please support us as much as possible if you can.
